See some reviews of movies, books, and videogames, and get recommendations for those thing that don't warrant a whole review. Note that in general I only review things I like, hence the high average rating.

Movies

Finding Nemo When I saw the trailer for this I was utterly bored. Turns out it was pretty funny... very funny.

Pirates of the Caribbean [series] When it came out it was 'just' an excellent movie. Now, with the release of Dead Man's Chest and coming release of the third in the trilogy, it has become an excellent and epic series.

Shrek 2 This movie is hilarious, especially the last stretch. It's also one of the best-grossing movies ever.

Waiting for Guffman Gotta love Christopher Guest. This is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen.

Star Wars [series] Reviewed as a whole in one massive... thing. Coming soon!

Episode I - The Phantom Menace The first installment chronologically, the fourth to come out, and one of the most hated.

Episode II - Attack of the Clones Part two, I mean five, of the saga. The Clone Wars have begun.

Episode III - Revenge of the Sith The turning point of the entire saga; fast-paced, action-packed, and epic. A lot happens in this film.

Episode IV - A New Hope The one! The only! The original! The movie that started it all.

Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back Most call this the best movie of the saga, and with good reason - it's the climax.

Episode VI - Return of the Jedi If The Empire Strikes Back is the climax, Return of the Jedi is the resolution. The loose ends are tied up.

More Movie Recommendations Brief blurbs on those movies for which I didn't feel like writing a whole review - but that doesn't mean they're not as good! Coming soon!

Books

Code Name Ginger by Steve Kemper An excellent history of the creation of the Segway Human Transporter.

Einstein's Dreams by Alan Lightman Delving into other worlds where time does not behave as it does in ours.

The Essence of Chaos by Edward N. Lorenz A nice little relatively-understandable summary of chaos theory. Coming soon!

Star Wars: The Approaching Storm by Alan Dean Foster This lead-in novel to Episode II is a bit lackluster at times, but elsewhere shines.

Star Wars: Shatterpoint by Matthew Stover The first Clone Wars novel, it didn't sell too well, but it should have.

Star Wars: Labyrinth of Evil by James Luceno One of the best books I've ever read. Takes place in the days leading up to Episode III. I read it in just over a day, which is the fastest I've ever read a book of that length.

Star Wars: Republic Commando [series] by Karen Traviss The best game tie-in you'll ever read. Actually, calling it a tie-in really doesn't do it justice.

Star Wars: Showdown at Centerpoint by Roger MacBride Allen The conclusion of the Corellian Trilogy. Learn what happens when you mix a star-destroying superweapon larger, more powerful, much older, and far more mysterious than the Death Star - and some power-hungry politicians.

Star Wars: Hand of Thrawn Duology by Timothy Zahn Fifteen years after Return of the Jedi, the New Republic is on the brink of Civil War -- with a dead Imperial warlord making matters even worse.

Star Wars: The New Jedi Order: Star by Star by Troy Denning The turning point of the New Jedi Order, a lot happens in this massive book.

Star Wars: The New Jedi Order: Enemy Lines Duology by Aaron Allston The end of the New Jedi Order series was on the whole better than the beginning and middle stretches, but this part really stood out.

Star Wars: Dark Nest Trilogy by Troy Denning The first books to take place after the New Jedi Order. They don't try to be galaxy-shattering - they just try to be good books, and they succeed. Coming soon!

More Book Recommendations Brief blurbs on books I didn't feel like reviewing, but which are nevertheless certainly worth your time. Coming soon!

Videogames

Halo [series] One of the bestselling videogames ever, and with good reason. It's not just a matter of features, it's the whole package - a balanced, polished, gripping game.

Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved Unlike Halo, this is a quick(ish) little arcade-style game available on, appropriately enough, Xbox Live Arcade for the Xbox 360. Like Halo, it's an extremely well put-together little game, high on polish and intensity.

MechAssault 2 The original was one of the most popular game on Xbox Live, and the sequel added so much more.

---

Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy Wield one of the coolest weapons, um, ever: the lightsaber. Now in double-bladed and dual-wielding varieties!

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic [series] The classic Star Wars role-playing game, and one of the best-reviewed RPGs ever.

Star Wars: Battlefront [series] Kind of the opposite of Republic Commando: multiplayer is great, single player is rough.

Star Wars: Republic Commando You can thank this excellent game for the excellent book series, not to mention for the creation of a Mandalorian language. Single player is great, multiplayer is rough. Coming soon!

More Videogame Recommendations Brief blurbs on some additional videogames that are certainly worth your time but which I just didn't feel like reviewing. Coming soon!
