    The
New Jedi Order: Enemy Lines
by Aaron Allston
NOTE: The Enemy Lines
Duology is made up of two books: Rebel Dream, and Rebel Stand.
Review:
Quite simply, the Enemy Lines duology -- Rebel Dream and Rebel Stand -- was the
best part of the New Jedi Order I've read so far. Sure, Star by Star beat it in
terms of sheer impact on the fate of the galaxy, but Enemy Lines was just so
full of brilliant battles, shocking revelations, and wonderful characterizations
that I'm sorry it ever had to end.
All of my favorite characters make appearances: not only
the main heroes from the movies, but also Wedge Antilles, Corran Horn, Wes
Janson, Jag Fel, Face Loran, and plenty more. From its hilarious dialogue to
memorable tactics, the Enemy Lines duology definitely deserves a full five
stars.
Summary :
Twenty-five years after the destruction of the first Death
Star, the Yuuzhan Vong, a strange species from beyond the rim of the galaxy, has
invaded. Seemingly unstoppable, they have torn through world after world, right
up to Coruscant, capitol of the galaxy (see Star by Star). Their living,
bioengineered weapons are unlike anything the galaxy has ever seen, and it is
taking all the might of the New Republic to escape complete annihilation.
Now, after the fall of Coruscant, the heroes
of the Rebellion are determined to strike back against this alien foe. Gathering
the remains of their forces, they retake Borleias and do their best to wear down
all enemy resistance in the area.
Meanwhile, Luke Skywalker, his wife Mara
Jade, and young Jedi Tahiri Veila, along with an elite special-operations team,
infiltrate the Yuuzhan Vong stronghold on Coruscant, only to discover that their
real foe is someone entirely different: a rogue Jedi with unimaginable power,
determined, as all good villains are, to take over the galaxy...
